Biography
Nicolas Brahy is the General Counsel as well as ESG and Public Affair Director of Hy24, a hydrogen investment platform managing the “Clean H2 Infra Fund” which is to date the world’s largest global fund dedicated to hydrogen. He is also the co-founder of FiveT Hydrogen, a clean hydrogen enabling investment platform which is behind the creation of Hy24 with Ardian (joint venture).
Until April 2021, he was the Managing Director of Hydrogen Europe which represents the hydrogen industry sector with 300 industrial members and 22 national associations. Hydrogen Europe also partners with the European Commission in a succession of innovation public private partnerships, especially via the Clean H2 Partneership (formerly the FCH JU) with a cumulated budget of €4.2 Bn.
Together with the Secretary General, he transformed a small association focused on innovation funding into a full-fledged trade association advocating to policy makers the contribution of hydrogen to EU policies. Prior to that, he worked 7 years for the FCH JU and 3 years for the European Commission. He also worked as a univserity researcher and lecturer on innovation, intellectual property, and public funding. He has a total of 20 years of experience in innovation matters and 13 in the hydrogen sector.
