Mr. Jochen Bard​​’s Profile

Jochen Bard studied physics at the University of Karlsruhe (now KIT) until 1995. He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Kassel until 1999.

Since 2000, he has been in charge of energy conversion at the Institute for Solar Energy Supply Technology – ISET with work in the field of hydrogen production and storage, among others. From 2006to 2007 he worked as a research associate for the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU).

After ISET was transferred to the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft as the Kassel site of the Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology IWES in August 2009, Mr. Bard took over as head of the Energy Converters and Storage department. Since 2014, he has headed the newly established Energy Process Engineering division with the departments Energy Storage, Renewable Gases and Bioenergy, and Dynamics and Control of Energy Systems. Currently, Mr. Bard is working on a number of international PtX projects in South America and the MENA region.
