Serving as a Project Lead for the GEO Project that falls under the Low Carbon Molecules Department within OQ Alternative Energy, Ahmed has over 18 years of experience as project manager and analyst across various assets of OQ. He started his career at Sohar Aluminium as a Treasury Assistant, his next foray was at Oman Oil Company as a Senior Analyst to lead and negotiate an acquisition in Vale Oman while monitoring the extended petrochemicals portfolio performance. Ahmed diversified his
knowledge overseas at MOL, Budapest, Hungary as a Project Manager where he managed a large international oil services contract.
Joining OQ as a New Ventures Analyst, he has successfully navigated various ventures and today, his expertise extends into planning new ventures, magnifying Upstream operations, M&A transactions, acquisition strategising along with project
development. His current focus is on leading the development plan for the 25GW Green Hydrogen Project for the Alternative Energy sector at OQ. Ahmed also runs the commercial discussion for offtakes and partnerships for the same project.
Ahmed has also served as a Board Member at the Vale Oman Pelletizing Company and the Oman India Fertilizer Company. He currently serves as Board Member at Saggas in Spain. Al Rawas is Bachelor of Science graduate from Sultan Qaboos University and International MBA from the IE Business School in Spain
