Ahmed Hababou is vice president, Green Hydrogen Business Development. In this role, he leads the development of green hydrogen projects globally, working to advance the leadership producing carbon–free (green) hydrogen for clean, sustainable energy.

Prior to this role, Ahmed has served from 2016 t0 2020 as vice president, Southern Europe and Maghreb, responsible for driving the strategy and profitability of all business aspects, including on–site plants and merchant bulk, and packaged gases supply. He was also responsible for developing the company’s industrial gas business in Maghreb (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia), including on–sites and merchant, and for expanding helium operations in Algeria. He acts as Director in our Sonatrach–Air Products JV. Ahmed joined Air Products in 2002 as operations support manager for European Packaged Gases, based in Brussels, Belgium. From 2005–2008, he served as the general manager for Air Products Middle East, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He relocated to Barcelona in 2008, where he was accountable for the company’s Packaged Gases supply chain, and in 2013 he returned to Brussels and assumed the role of European Specialty Gas and Helium operations manager.

Prior to joining Air Products, Ahmed worked in different parts of the world within the industrial gases, and oil and gas industries.
 Ahmed holds a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering from the École Centrale de Paris and has completed the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD.
